Description:

Clare was a young ,and beautiful, disciple of Francis of Assisi. When her wealthy father made arrangements for her to be married, she ran away to Francis. She begged him to let her stay and become a nun. St Francis agreed, and cut her beautiful, long, hair off. Though nobody really knows, there are many speculations that Clare and Francis had a romantic relationship. She certainly adored him and she became a leader in her own right. Once Francis delighted her by sending her a gift of a lamb that he had trained to genuflect to her.
