I love poetry, it has saved me many times in my life, and Saint Brigid is the Patron Saint of Poets. Many people think that Saint Brigid was truly the much loved Celtic Goddess, Brigid. The thought is that the Catholic church simply morphed her into a Christian Saint because the people wouldn’t give her up. In any event, she is beloved by the Irish people. She was known for making the ordinary sacred. Here she is shown holding Brigid’s cross, woven out of straw. In the background, night and day to show she is always with us. An owl for wisdom and the bluebird of Happiness.
