Description:

I painted this image during the time that my small, rural, community came together at our City Hall, to ask our city council to vote in favor of becoming a “Sanctuary City.” The citizens of this little town, packed the room, saying that they didn’t want their hispanic neighbors to be frightened, or tormented. It brought tears to my eyes. Soon after, the entire State of California became a Sanctuary State. See the "California Sister," butterfly at the top of the painting? I celebrate living in this place, my beautiful California. Let's not allow anyone to be bullied or mistreated!

This image has been featured in Matthew Fox's, Creation Spirituality Newsletter, Sept/Oct. The theme for this issue was, “Community.” and also in the 2019 We’Moon Calendar.
