I often think that people care deeply about the world but they just don’t have the confidence to stand up and fight for it. We are taught that we aren’t enough, but that’s a lie. In this painting the angel shows a scroll reading,”You are enough to save the world. Your imperfect hands are perfect for this job.” It’s a line from a poem I wrote. Here is the poem:
You are Enough
You are enough to save this world
your imperfect hands
are perfect for this job.
Your unuttered words,
when spoken will be enough.
Your steps, graceful or not
will lead you forward.
And when you open your mouth to sing?
Great croaking cacophony!
will bring such joy
to all your ancestors
who have been waiting, longing
to hear the sound of something Free
rise up again.
Never doubt. Never fear.
Your beating heart is enough
to save the world.
