In times of trouble I think it’s best to turn to Radical Hope. The hope that human kindness can prevail, and that the natural world will somehow continue to flourish. Like all seeds, a single seed of hope, can proliferate throughout our world.
This is a painting of Mary Magdalene, I have put seeds all around her nimbus. She holds a tiny newborn in her hands. The newborn is a kind of seed too, a symbol of human potential, of health, and wholeness. May the newborn be a guiding force for us in considering the choices we make throughout our days.
* Notice the myrrh jar and skull near her feet. These are symbols associated with Magdalene that you’ll find over and over again.
